Arts Advocacy

What is arts advocacy?

At its core, arts advocacy is the organized effort to promote, support, and protect the arts and arts education. It involves speaking up to decision-makers, such as school principals, school boards, and government officials, to ensure that the arts receive the funding, policy support, and respect they deserve. While "art" is the practice of creating, "arts advocacy" is the practice of ensuring the opportunity to create exists for everyone.
